Considered to be the most powerful buying event in the outdoor industry, Outdoor Retailer is held twice a year in Salt Lake City, Utah, for a Winter and Summer Market. In each, YKK displays everything outdoor from hardware, to clothing, and shoes to organic and green products. These shows bring together buyers, distributors, suppliers, and industry media to make sales, promote new products, and grow businesses.

In addition to exhibiting at both the Winter and Summer Markets, YKK is also supporting Project OR held biannually at each show. In this Project, five design students are hand picked from top school programs across the country and are given the opportunity to design and construct a garment prototype that is practical for the outdoor market. YKK is proud to support the talented up-and-coming designers as well as to provide the fastening materials for their use during the competition.
